I used this product while doing the Copland track on the West Coast of the South Island which is notorious for it's sandflies and managed to come away with basically no bites (only ones in areas where I forgot to put the insect repellent!). This product does not smell as strongly as non-natural insect repellents and I didn't find it to be too sticky or noticeable when worn. The other great thing about this product is that it does not contain DEET!! I managed to destroy a $400 dollar macpac raincoat this year by accidentally getting insect repellent containing DEET on it which is a mistake I wont be repeating - therefore this is a great and effective DEET free alternative that won't destroy your gear!
